At Tenuta Il Quinto, we are constantly looking to produce "true wine" as a source of emotion and pleasure for those taste it. Our wine making process requires patience and order. We try to minimize the use of tractors in the vineyard and if the weather permits, the harvest will be conducted by hand.
Particular attention is paid to the selection of our grapes, and our French oak barrels are tested to best harmonize those grapes during the vinification process. After aging and blending, our wine returns to the barrels in a beautiful wine cellar, where it builds character. Time then becomes the most important factor of the process in determining the end product.
IGT includes a wide range of good quality Italian wines, available at highly competitive prices, or expensive wines sought after by international markets. This category opens new avenues for Italian winemakers, to venture outside the relatively strict limits of DOCG, without making any concessions in terms of quality. Our wines are made with grape varieties that come only from our fields. The assemblies are not imposed, and the production is done internally, which earns us the IGT certification label.
Appellation that certifies the origin and quality of a wine.
This label is used to qualify a product of quality and reputation, having characteristics associated with the natural and human environment. Our Morellino di Scansano, certified DOCG, complies with the rule of a minimum of 85% Sangiovese.
