Time-based philosophy

By respecting time and nature, we want to extract the very essence of the lands of Tenuta il Quinto to create exceptional wines.
We cherish our 65 000 vine stocks scattered across the 11 hilly hectares. We cultivate each of our 18 parcels according to their exposures and their specificities.
We manage a specific timeline centered around all important aspects of the vines : training, harvest, fermentation, la maceration, running off, aging and blending are all essential stages which require impeccable timing.

Across the estate there are diverse grape varieties bith from the region and international, that represent what have forged the reputation of great Tuscan wines. By giving prominence to such an optimal mix and experimenting with different blends, Tenuta il Quinto adopts an approach that is ideal for producing a temperate, southern, and spirited wine.

  • Priviledged terroir

Our 11 hectares of vines are managed organically. Not only, do we ban the use of herbicides and pesticides during the entire process, but we also use green manure to return valuable nutrients to the soil and improve overall soil structure. All of which have contributed to Tenuta Il Quinto products being certified Bioagricert. The technicalities of the wine making process of each grape variety differ according to the type of soil. Each soil type will vary due to the presence, sometimes significant, of shale content, also known as « galestro ». The content levels could affect the aeration, hydration and mineral nutrition of the soil, which allows us to differentiate soil qualities on the same plot of land.

Tuscany, land of wine & history

Garden of Italy, Tuscany is the fruit of centuries of refined civil life and a human presence permeating nature. Home of the Renaissance and space of expression of beauty through time, Tuscany and its magnificent landscapes of pleasure represent an art of living unique to the world.

It is also the most important Italian wine producing region. Alone, it represents the symbol of the revival of Italian wine that began thirty years ago. Starting in the center of the region, this trend quickly spread to the Mediterranean coast of La Maremma. This trend has positively supported the production of great wine in Tenuta Il Quinto.
Overlooking the village of Magliano in Toscana, a few kilometers from the Mediterranean Sea, our estate spans 70  hectares. Surrounded by woods and olive groves, our vineyards are scattered along the clay-limestone hills, with each wine variety positioned strategically.
